A new LTS from Ubuntu

16 03 2010

Every 2 years the Ubuntu developers release a long-term supported version also known as LTS. The last one was released in April 2008 and was the Ubuntu 8.04 LTS. These long-term supported releases of Ubuntu have 3 year continuous support and are the most used ones.

Now we are in 2010 and we wait for the new LTS, the Ubuntu 10.04 LTS. This will be a great thing because they made many improvements from the 8.04 version. In this new release will be included all the new updates for the software and many more. Every year they change the name of the release, so the new one will be called Lucid Lynx. The last one had the name Karmic Koala and the last LTS was called Hardy Heron.

We have to wait till the end of April for the final release, but it’s worth waiting. I embedded some videos of the Alpha versions and some presentations of Ubuntu 10.04. After the release i will make a demo video. Till then take care.
